In the pale moonlight, shadows play their fright
And the things that are are not the things you think they are
When the things you know don't agree with the things you see
it's time to hold on tight to the things that are a certainty
Things are not as they appear ... you can't believe the big facade that seems sincere
It doesn't matter if the whole world follows that pipe has played before
Would you sell for what's behind the door?
In the broad daylight, it's a different sight
We bend what's true with vices that distort our view
When the world ain't right and life's going straight to hell
We put a pretty, pretty face upon it's dying shell
Paint the world your favorite colors ... it doesn't change what's underneath
We mistake tears of rejoicing ... laughter camoflauges grief
Things are not as they appear you can't believe the big facade that seems sincere
It doesn't matter if the whole world follows that pipe has played before
Would you sell for what's behind the door?
