The gods have gathered ... as they stand in the place of the Almighty and issue forth their judgments upon the sons of men. Yes, the gods have gathered ... and their unjust commands condemn the righteous, but favor the wicked of the world. In vain the gods have gathered ... and even though their victory seems sure their dark rule lasts but a moment
Just who do you suppose these "gods" are who were referenced in the 82nd Psalm? "I said, 'You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High. Nevertheless you will die like men and fall like any one of the princes.' " Any chances the Pharisees understood it when Jesus quoted part of it to them after they asked him to validate himself to them? Yes, folly on the councils of men who judge as gods, and though reciting the "decrees of God" nevertheless judge according to their own fleshly wisdom. There is only true judgment in Christ, for it is only in him we see God as he truly is, and one another as they truly are in him.
