Like many of many instrumental songs this one pretty much started as a rhythymic loop that I had added bits and pieces to. In other words, it wasn't a finished product, and probably would have remained that way if my long-time musical partner, Dave Drummond, hadn't heard it. He immediately perked up and asked what my plans were for it, and I told him to have at it. He did. He pulled out his synthesizer and began laying down a couple tracks that turned it into a cohesive song ... and of course, I realize that statement is quite relative depending on what one considers music! :)
